he has a total of 11 snakes and elephants in stock. The animals that he has

in stock have a total of 12 legs. How many of his animals are snakes?

    Snakes have no legs

    Elephants have 4 legs

    12/4 = 3 elephants

    11 - 3 = 8 total animals minus elephants equals snakes
