    Answer: parts get moved to read data stored magnetically on a plate. the information gets stored on a chip that will not disappear if there is no power supply. it is semipermanent, and holds data without moving parts. it is very portable and easy to data goes onto the software chip. thus being easy to read when connected and stored.
