Which column and row references are updated when you copy the formula: = SUM ($B5:D$15) ?

    The '$' sign in front of the row or column indicates that these remain constant during the paste operation. Therefore in SUM ($B5:D$15), the past would only update the row in '$B5' and the column in 'D$15'.
