He is known for his fascination of Shakespeare works that even motivate him to start learning English during 1828 to enable him to read the original writing of Shakespeare. Berlioz was amazed after attending productions of Shakespeare's Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet presented by Charles Kemble's touring company. Since then he started a lifelong passion for Shakespeare.
