Suppose that f (x) = 4x-1 and g (x) = -2x+5. For which values of x is f (x) >0?

    f (x) = 4x - 1

    Consider the scenario when f (x) = 0,

    4x-1=0

    x=1/4

    Hence when x is more than 1/4, f (x) will be more than 0. This can be observed too by drawing a linear graph.
