Registers are high speed storage locations to temporarily hold data and instructions.

    Explanation:

Registers are storage locations that are a part of computer processor. Also called CPU registers. Registers hold an instruction, a storage address, or data and used to quickly access, store or transfer data. A fast memory that holds a value temporarily and also speeds up the program execution, enabling rapid access to frequently used values within a current instruction or operation. For example a register can store the output of an arithmetic operation and this can be used again in a successive operation. An instruction can use more than one register. For example in an instruction, values contained in two registers can be added and the result of this addition can be stored in another register. Registers are usually determined by the number of bits they are able to hold e. g. 16 bit register. Some registers are Data register, Accumulator register, Program counter, output and input registers, Instruction registers.

Capacitor: A capacitor is an electrical component placed in motherboard which used to remove noise from power supplies and can be viewed as small batteries. So this is not a correct option.

Resistor: it is also a component that tends to limit or regulate an electric current flow and obstructs it. So it is not a correct option.

Inductor: It is also a component that is used to store electric energy. It stores it in the form of magnetic field and is used in computer cables to radio frequency disruption. So it is not a correct option.

mashups: A mash-up is a Web page or application that blends information from multiple sources to create a new service. So its not a correct option.
