Cat6 is capable of backward compatible which means it can be used to lower categories. Cat6 has less chance of interference and crosstalk. The maximum signal that can be transmitted in 100 meters of ethernet cable is 1,000 Mbps while for 55 meters is Gigabit and for 33 meters, it is also Gigabit but with higher chance of crosstalk.
