    An Relational Database Management System is a type of database management system (DBMS) that stores data in a table structure which is a collection of related data elements. Data in RDBMS is arranged as a collection of tables. An RDBMS includes functions that handle the security, integrity and consistency of the data. RDBMS is based on the relational model and it is designed for relational databases. Relationship between tables is formed through a common field. RBDMS makes creation, manipulation and presentation of the data easier. It is easier to create, alter and delete records from a table. It has a built in query language which allows to obtain information via different set of queries on the relational database. It also generates reports about the data. Examples include Oracle Database, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server etc.
