    The answer is dial-up

Dial-up is by far the slowest internet connection available. Speeds max out at about 50 to 56Kbps. These speeds are only about a tenth of the speed of the slowest broadband connections. Dial-up technology is practically obsolete in urban areas. In many instances, it can be impossible to view websites with flash and files sometimes can take hours to download due to its slow speeds.
