Write an argument Lauren can use to convince Carmen to stop texting and driving. Be sure to defend against counterarguments.

(I'm writing this as if you were Lauren, so the first person. Sorry if that's not what you wanted.)

There're lots of reasons you shouldn't text and drive. The National Safety Council reports that cell phone use while driving leads to 1.6 million crashes each year. I understand with the world population being almost seven billion, it doesn't seem like a big deal but you have to understand that there could be thousands of innocent children being harmed by something that's far out of their control. If you had a child that got into an accident and was injured or killed, would you allow the illegal use of a mobile device justify your child's injury or death? Regardless of whatever reason you have to justify texting and driving, it's illegal and selfish to the lives of millions on the road. Don't put other's at risk because of your ignorance.
