Does it take longer to locate data on the hard drive the more full it is

    If you have more files in a directory, obviously there'd be more entries in the directory file to search, which could take longer. A fuller hard drive will have files covering more of the diameter of the platters, so the heads may have to move farther to reach the cylinder (track) that the data resides on.
