Experimental Quality Determination (XQD) : XQDs are a new generation of flash storage devices. They have high storage capacity and high data transfer rates. The transfer rate may be in excess of 1 TB/sec.

    Answer is CF

    Explainnation:

fastest CF cards have a max transfer rate of 12 MB/sec.

Even a theoretical 1 TB SD card would be many, many times smaller than a 3.5" hard drive, with a capacity more than triple the largest HDs available these days, with probably higher sustained transfer speeds, and lower power usage.

Recent announcements on dpreview regarding Pretec 12 GB CF cards for ~$15,000 leads me to believe we won't be seeing 100gb CF cards at reasonable prices anytime soon (or ever?), so the announcement for a new memory card format 10 times as fast as the fastest CF cards with a potential maximum capacity a couple orders of magnitude larger is quite interesting.
