    I believe the correct answer is select the range, right-click, format cells, make changes.

    First of all, it's easier to select the range instead of selecting each cell one by one. Then, you have to right-click nevertheless, so that's the second step. Now, the ribbon is found at the top of your screen - it is just a tab that contains numerous other tabs, so I don't think you can reach it by right-clicking.
