    Explanation:

    EIGRP uses the whole time as long as it is expected to wait for it's neighbor to receive a hello packet (or other EIGRP packets) before declared the Neighbor unattainable.

    The holding time is 3 times longer than the hello interval by design. The default time for the hello is 5 seconds on the LAN interfaces and the default holding time is 15 seconds.
