    Multiple core processors are type of processors with two or more processors within a single chip. For example, a dual core processor, has one chip but two working processors equivalent.

    Advantages of these processors are they are faster and runs on lower frequency which means, they do not obtain heat while they work. Processors that has several chips has tendencies to overheat and damage some hardware within the motherboard.

    Examples of multi-core / multiple core processors are:

    Core 2 / Quad Core / Pentium / Celeron - these are processors that can be dual quad-core (x4) that are from Intel manufacturer. GeForce 9 / 200 / Tesla - these are processors that are from Nvidia that supports up to 10 cores. Power9 / Power8 - processors by IBM that supports up to 12 cores
