Context is the first path to discovering specific solutions. An organization must determine the different factors whether technical and/or economic and how those factors will impact the organizations security.

Scope is the process of determining the specific functions and features that will be protected. It will also lay out reporting procedures and who holds responsibility for specific security functions in the security plan.

The purposes of feasibility are to determine the economic benefits of the scheme, do the requirements meet specific security standards, and are there any possible technical issues that could derail the plan.

An example of a security solutions development process is an organization that is determining to design and develop a new system or upgrade their current system.
