What is the difference between geosynchronous and non-geosynchronous satellites? What are the pros and cons of these two types of satellites?

    The difference between the geosynchronous and non-geosynchronous satellites is that the former is not bound to follow an inclined orbit whereas the latter is bound to be in inclined orbit.

    Some of the pros and cons of these two types of satellite:

    1. The orbital period of the former one is the same as that of the Earth, it moves in synchronization with the Earth.

    2. The geostationary satellites are used for various purposes like weather forecasting and communications at global level.

    3. Geostationary satellite results in parallax in the polar areas.

    4. Geostationary satellites, due to their positioning at higher altitudes results in signal delays.
