An aluminum rod with a gauge length of 1.18 m undergoes thermal expansion from 20 oC to 92 oC. The thermal expansion coefficient and elastic modulus of aluminum are 22.2 * 10-6 K - 1 and 68.9 GPa respectively

    Explanation: from

    L2=l1 (1+alpha*change in temperature)

    L2=1.18 (1 + (22.2*10^-6) * (92-20))

    L2 = 1.18189m
