The second is identification, this is when a person conforms to a person they highly regard such as a friend, mentor, or even another family member. The third is internalization, this is when a person adapts another's beliefs as their own in public and private.

    People conform to others for various reasons, the most common is the fear of being rejected by their peers. Other reasons are to fit in and be liked, to be popular.

    This normally happens at the beginning of adolescence but will continue with people of all ages.
