How are instincts and learned behaviors alike and different

Learned behaviors are similar toinstincts in that they are things that an animal needs in order to survive ... However, learned behaviors are just that; animals need to learn them. Learned behaviors are different frominstincts because an animal must be taught something specific in a certain situation.

Instincts are something you do without thinking, it's a reaction to a feeling or event. Learned behaviors on the other hand are the things you learn to do and practice.
