Which best identifies a theme of "A Psalm of Life"?

A) All people experience birth and death alone.

B) Do your best to be remembered after you die.

C) Having children is one way you can live forever.

D) Life is nothing but an empty dream.

    I would say B. Do your best to be remembered after you die is the correct answer.

    A is not correct because the poem is more upbeat and optimistic, and even though what that option says is true, it is not the theme of the poem. C is incorrect because offspring are not even mentioned in the poem. D is rather pessimistic and has nothing to do with the poem - the opposite is true.

    Thus, we are only left with B, which I believe is correct as the poem urges us to live our lives to the fullest.
