What did Grover think the snipping of he yarn meant?

Grover claims to be Percy's protector. Percy felt that this was strange because Grover is very clumsy and he got bullied on. Percy: Grover does this yarn-cutting means that someone is going to die? Grover did not actually give an answer but he looked very sad.
