Jose is speaking for the first time in front of a large group of people. He is very nervous, but grateful that the speech only needs to last about 3 or 4 minutes. To make things worse, he has to speak on a topic that he knows very little about. What would be the best advice to give Jose?

a.

Write an outline on a notecard and refer to it periodically while giving your speech.

b.

Just type your speech and read it word for word.

c.

Learn about your topic, but don't spend too much time preparing your speech. You want to sound natural.

d.

Learn your speech by heart, but take some notes with you in case you forget something or lose your place.
