    The correct answer for the first question is True. They believed that people were innately good and could find that good inside of them. The second one is false. Although they held each other in high regards, there's no specific evidence that he was inspired by him as Whitman came from a poor family and was never really that educated until later in his life. The third is also true. That is one of the reasons why Thoreau wrote "On Civil Disobedience"
