    Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. defined just laws as being congruent with moral laws or codes, as unjust laws were misaligned with the code of ethics most religions teach. A modern day example of Just laws could be punishment for murder, polygamy, and r. ape, while certain tax codes and election laws could be seen as unjust laws.
