Within the story, "The Masque of the Red Death," there are no real reasons provided to the reader that might interpret the meaning of an apartment’s color. This is not to say, although, that the color of the apartments don’t symbolize or stand for something that can be interpreted by readers because one, while reading can certainly infer meanings. However, within the story itself, the colors of the apartments have no real meaning and certainly do serve purpose of providing intrigue when read.
