Dr. Frankenstein created a monster. He studied and experimented and pressed the boundaries of human knowledge in order to create this monstrous life. The pursuit of dangerous knowledge is an important theme in the novel, as evidenced by the endeavors of both Frankenstein and Walton. To begin with, both challenged boundaries in their pursuit of knowledge.

    The correct answer is D. The introductory paragraph should always include a short summary of the novel and its author. In this paragraph the author is not mentioned at all and there is little mention of the novel's events. It should include information like how the doctor created Frankestein, as well as Frankestein's actions or personality. Choice A is incorrect since there is a thesis statement. Choice B is incorrect since the introduction is catchy enough for an essay. Choice C is not supposed to be in the introduction, rather on the body of the essay
