    The Arawak, Taino, or Lucayan, the indigenous people that Columbus encountered, were said to be peaceful and friendly. He believes that they ought to make good and skilled servants, because they repeat whatever they said to them very quickly. And he thinks they can be easily be made Christians, because they seem to have no religion.
