    The correct answer is D.

The king discovered that his daughter is dating one of the servants in his palace and this is a great crime to commit in that land. The king had the habit of bringing criminals to the judgement arena and asking them to pass through one of the two doors that are located in the arena. Behind one door is a ferocious tiger, that will eat the criminal alive while behind the second door is a beautiful damsel which the criminal will be allowed to marry if he chooses that door. The climax of the story comes when the criminal reaches out to open the right hand door which has been signaled to him by the princess. The princess had a hard time deciding which door to signal to his former love because, she is not ready to allow another woman to have him neither does she want him to be eaten up by a tiger. At the end, the princess made her decision, which the author did not made known to the readers.
