'The Outsiders' is a novel authored by S. E. Hinton which is a story about two different group of people: Greasers and SOCS. The other half of the story brings its readers with a situation where if the judge decides to separate the Curtis family, then none of the brothers would have each other to rescue when in danger.

All three brothers: Darry, Sodapop, and Ponyboy need each other to survive. Darry being the eldest one cares for his younger brothers. Sodapop can't sleep alone at night and needs both his brothers. Separating them would result in separating their unity and bond.
