What position or role does young Twain want to have? Why?

    Mark Twains's article "The Mesmerizer" is a story of Twain when he was a teenager. In 1852, there was an exciting event by the Mesmerizer named Simmon. Simmon was having a subject named Hicks. Therefore, the young Twain wanted to have the role of star subject in Simmon’s show, as Simmon promised wonders to his audience. Twain realizes that Simmon a self-proclaimed hypnotist, is a fraud when he goes with him on the stage for the first time.
