Denby mentions three movies that ""go beyond [the] fixed polarities"" (para. 15) : Clueless, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, and Election. Do you agree? Do any recent teen movies transcend/go beyond the genre? Explain.

Based on Denby's descriptions I am left with no choice than to agree, but I still cannot make a view that a synthesis of my own opinion and Denby's because I have never seen any of these movies. A teen movie recently produced that transcends it's genre is "Nappily Ever After." It begins with a confident black woman, with perfect straight hair, a mega rich doctor boyfriend, wearing tight clothes and living the perfect life. However, the movie breaks free of all of these as she shaves her head and enters a life that is entirely her own, breaking several social norms.
