The correct answer is B: Mr. Jones will come back to rule the farm.

"Animal Farm" is an allegorical novel published in 1945 and written by George Orwell. This novel tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their farmer, Mr. Jones. These animals take over the farm once Mr. Jones is gone. At the beginning, they hold Sunday morning meetings in which they decide all the works they have to carry out every week. These meetings, however, are not very democratic. The pigs in the farm are the ones who take most of the decisions in the meetings and who, as time goes by, assume absolute control over the farm. In chapter V of this novel, the pigs decide to cancel Sunday meetings since Napoleon, the most powerful pig in the farm, considers them as a threat to his regime. Squealer, the second-in-command to Napoleon, explains this new arrangement to the other animals: "he claims that taking on leadership responsibilities is a burden for Napoleon and his committee and that they do it only for the general welfare of the farm". Moreover, in the novel we can read the following excerpt: "Squealer ensures the animals' compliance by threatening Mr. Jones's return". According to this excerpt, Squealer threatens the animals by telling them that, if they do not comply with the pigs' orders, Mr. Jones will return to rule the farm again; something that the farm animals want to avoid.
