How has the novel Frankenstein been depicted in artwork and film over the years? How do these depictions relate to or differ from Shelley's original work?

    What I believe to be the answer is that over the years, most filmmakers have heavily taken inspiration from the book rather than the story. For example, some films call Frankenstein's Monster ... Just Frankenstein like the Doctor who created him.
