Since 6 laps around her neighborhood equals 1 mile, you can show one lap around the block as 1/6 of a mile. In order to complete 5/6 of a mile she will need to run 5 times around the neighborhood since 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 = 5/6.

    5 times because if running 6 times around it gets you a mile then running 5 times will get you. 5/6 miles ... each time around is 1/6 so 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 = 5/6 + 1/6 = 6/6 which is a mile
