As we get older we start to acknowledge that the way we demonstrate our feelings affects others. The author develops the idea of emotional awareness and how it can be learned and practiced by describing emotional awareness "like a muscle ". (Paragraph 5) The author says, "The more you practice using it, the stronger it will get." (Paragraph 5) This is very true and a way to practice and to make emotional awareness stronger is noticing the way we feel throughout separate parts of the day. We could do this by journaling and having time to notice how we feel. In conclusion, paying attention to our feelings and "[putting] them into words will make [us] more aware of others and [ourselves]." (Paragraph 5)
