One critic has argued that Vonnegut portrays television as "a kind of desensitizing, numbing, and clearly thought-stifling, rather than thought-provoking, medium" that is partly responsible for the state of society. Do you agree or disagree with this interpretation of this story? Explain your opinion

    The correct answer is : Television is not partly to blame for the society portrayed in the story.

    Explanation:

    In the story, the handicaps were responsible for the numbing, desensitizing, and clearly thought-stifling going on in it. I think television was responsible for creating and provoking thoughts because Hazel cried because of "Something real sad on television,". My opinion is that Television is not partly to blame for the society portrayed in the story.
