The statement that best illustrates the change of attitude of Mr. Lacey are B. Worst looking place I've ever seen, C. I wouldn't leave an ant in that place and D. Are you going to feed it or not?

In the story Stray, the family Lacey finds a dog in the snow. They let it in until the weather improves, when Mr. Lacey takes it to the pound. Doris, the daughter, tries to convince her parents to keep the dog, but it isn't until she cries herself to sleep after her father took the dog to the pound that Mr. Lacey changes his mind. By telling her daughter to feed the dog after he brought it back from the pound shows that she is allowed now to keep it.
