    According to the author the people fear that they will lose their freedom to do choose what they want to as a result of the new law.

    Explanation:

    There was a fuss about the new law, about how it bans soda usage, and what else they might propose next. In general, people don't like being told what they should do. Even if it benefits them. They like to be left alone and treated like rational beings. And we are capable of making decisions that lead to a good life, Given complete liberty, and, in normal circumstances, we'll end up where we want to be. This vision makes us happy and proud and is nice. But it's false. So, the people need to understand hat public benefit is a legitimate concern of the law, even when that may inconvenience some.
