In " a way of talking", Jane didn't know the names of the Maori workers most likely becuase

A) She considered them to be below her social status

B) it was fashionable to have only a few Maori friends

C) her business had kept her too busy to learn their names

D) she was foreign to the area and hadn't really met anyone yet

    A) She considered them to be below her social status

    It wasn't because Jane was too busy to know there names. It wasn't because Jane was new in the country that she hasn't assimilated yet or the fact that it was fashionable. It was because she believed she was more dominant than them.
