Although Thornton Wilder has debuted at Broadway with adaptation of plays such as Le Viol de Lucrèce in 1932 and A Doll’s House in 1937, his first own play that has debuted in Broadway was Our Town in 1938, winning him the Pulitzer Price that same year.
