What does Proctor mean when he says, "Society will not be a bag to swing around your head, Mr. Putnam

    It means that John Proctor is saying that Mr. Putnam is wrong by the accusations of the children being taken as dead by evil thing. So society is not at Mr. Putnam disposal, and he won't or cannot do whatever he wants with it.
