    E

    Explanation:

A: It contains emotion, but I don't think it is primarily an appeal to our emotions. Not A

B: The primary appeal is not to our egos. The mention of South Korea is an example of a country that is educating children. So not B either.

C: I don't know how to get rid of appeal to authority. It is simply wrong.

D: There doesn't seem to be any ethical question involved. He did make part of his statement say that it is wrong to lay off teachers because it undermines the student's future. But the primary appeal is not to our sense of right / or wrong.

E: He is appealing, I think, primarily to our logic. It is illogical to short change our youth when in the process we are short changing ourselves as well.
