The most likely protagonist of this play - Oedipus.

Oedipus' wife and mother - Jocasta.

    Oedipus' brother-in-law/uncle - Creon.

The blind prophet who tells Oedipus of the murderer - Teriresias.

The character that is guilty of killing King Laius - Oedipus.

    Explanation:

Sophocles' plays based on the character of Oedipus, "The Oedipus Plays'' tells the story of how Oedipus as a young boy was displaced from his biological home. Once older, he killed a man named Laius, who turned out to be his own biological father. He then went ahead to marry his mother/Laius' wife Jocasta.

The brother of the Queen of Thebes, Creon, also thus Oedipus brother-in-law/uncle fought against him for the throne, which resulted in the exile of Oedipus. When Oedipus began looking for the killer of his father, he was told by the soothsayer Teriresias that he himself (Oedipus) was the murderer. And in a final twist of fate, the character of Oedipus was found to be guilty of killing his own father King Laius, but unknowingly.
