In the space provided, explain the use of overgeneralization and red herring in advertising. Give an example of each.

    Overgeneralization is a tendency to arrive into a general conclusion up to a particular event that has happened and up to it we generalize it to everything similar to it without sufficient evidences. We can see it when they put a handsome guy to use perfumes or when they advertise pink clothes just for women as if them all like it.

    Red Herring is used to distract the audience from the main discussion, to keep the audience's attention. One clear example of this is when they use a famous to advertise a product, meaning that if he uses it then you should as well.
