In which sentence is the word 'exiting' a gerund?

A. We were stuck in the parking lot behind all the exiting cars

B. After visiting hours, people were exiting as quietly as possible.

    If it is used a a gerund, then it is used as a noun. So that pretty much eliminates A, B, and D ... because it is used as adjectives in those sentences. So ur answer is C ... it is being used as a object of preposition (a noun)
