An author writes a book about the ordinary people of a small Midwestern town. Among the stories, is a paragraph about a previously unknown affair between the barber shop's wife and the town school bus mechanic. The affair did take place. The barber's wife sues under the tort of private facts. The wife's suit is likely to fail.

    It is not true that the barbershop's wife's suit is likely to fail because the author has invaded the privacy of the barbershop's wife. Even though the affair which the author wrote about is true, it is wrong for the author to publicly disclose the barbershop's wife's private facts without her consent; therefore, the barbershop's wife's suit is NOT likely to fail.
