"Give me Liberty, or Give me Death!" is a famous phrase from Patrick Henry's speech which he made before Second Verginia Convention on March 23, 1775. By this speech and specifially through this phrase he convinced and motivated the convention to pass a resolution delivering Verginian troops for the American War of Independence (1775-1783) against British forces.

Future U. S. Presidents Thomas Jefferson and George Washington were also among the delegates to the convention.
