To an athlete dying young

POEM UNDER HERE!

Eyes the shady night has shut

Cannot see the record cut,

And silence sounds no worse than cheers

After earth has stopped the ears:

Now you will not swell the rout

Of lads that wore their honours out,

Runners whom renown outran

And the name died before the man.

Which statement is the BEST summary of the fourth and fifth stanzas (lines 13-20) of this poem?

A) Like the athlete, all of us will be forgotten after our deaths.

B) Because the athlete has died, his records will be broken and people will forget his name.

C) Because the athlete has died, he will never see his record broken nor his fame diminished.

D) Even though the athlete has died, he will look down from Heaven and bless other athletes whose fame comes after him.
