People who flee severe hurricanes and other destructive events leave behind and lose important documents and records such as birth certificates, credit cards, property records, and employment records. A U. S. government agency proposed a new database where people could voluntarily store essential personal records in case of similar natural disasters. Discuss pros and cons of this proposal.

    Pros: Victims of these natural disasters can easily access any of their missing documents or information from this database. Government can also make use of the records these people have submitted to identify what kind of attention is needed by each of these victims.

    Cons: There can be data leakage which can lead to intrusion into the private lives of these victims.
